The Indian Desi Romance!!!

THE INDIAN DESI ROMANCE!!!

DISCLAIMER- THIS POST REFLECTS MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS AND IS IN REFFRENCE TO MY IDEA TOWARDS RELATION.SOME MAY RELATE OTHERS MAY NOT. ENJOY.

We as Indians are knowned for our commitment towards love, our compassion for it and our will to do anything for love.
but have you'll noticed that it has started fading.
The quest, the compassion, the will....where is it??
Where are we heading to?????

We are slowly adapting the western culture..
Wait,wait..Im not being a moron.
Im completely into everything and i enjoy the modernized form.
I appreciate live-ins even okay with pre-marital sex..
Or even One night stands
The only thing that bothers me is when in the name of love we play with emotions and feelings...
As i'm a mass media student, i'm going to take reffrences from the movies as well as im a bollywood junkie xoxo...
So this is a vast topic to explain. We will start with understanding how the meaning of love changed over the years.......

LET'S START......

GRAPH-O-MOHABBAT

  • PYAAR FROM THE 80'S:
The very well cherished 80's was a time when love was in the air. The story was simple a boy meet a girl, they fall in love, get married to somebody else. YES,u read it right. These love stories never really found a happy ending. Very few love stories were successful.
Here we are talking about real life and not movies.
Movies had made a big impact on people's lives back then.
The much anticipated movie "Ek Duje Ke Lia" was released. This movie proved to be blockbuster at that time, especially the last scene.
People actually attempted suicide when they faced failure in their love life.So you could imagine how much people believed and lived in love. Love was bounded to feelings and emotions.
From "Ae mere humsafar" to "Shayad mere shaadi" it was all pure emotions and love.

  • ISHQ FROM  90's:
Because of the slight steps taken before, the 90's era was a time when people became a bit laid back and accepted love as an emotion. People became more sensitive towards their childrens and accepted their choices but with some conditions related to religion, caste, race, etc.
Even though it was far better than the 80's still couple faced a lot of problems.
Talking about the take on minds of people in terms of relationships. This was a time when love still existed but now it came with some sorts of achievement.
People started taking love as a process to achieve a girl/boy.
Because of such attitude, the essence of pure love started to degrade.
Some examples of this are-"khudko kya samajhte hai" or "ladki hai yaa", where you could experience eve teasing.
The guy is seen harassing the girl as well as treating her like an object( a sequence where a girl is compared to a khamba).
The distillation of love began......

  • MOHABBAT FROM THE 00's
After a heart dwenching 90's came 2000 era where love had a new meaning.
Love again garnered the attention it lost. People again started believing in the intuition of emotions and feelings. It was seen that everyone had made love it top most priority.People could do anything for love.
There were more sucessfull love marriages and people preffered love marriage over arrange.

OK!!!! Now i know you wont believe me
So here you go- "Saathiya" and "Mohabbatein" .
Now say...
Still not satisfied..wait i have something for you

Ab toh boss maanlo...The 2000's was an era of pure love..💓💓

  • AAJ KAL KA ROMANCE:
In todays fast forwarded life, we all have definetely lost many things. One of which is love.
As a normal Indian girl i have seen so many people having multiple partners. There is no exclusivity left. It depends more on the physical aspect then the emotional one. Im not judging anyone for this as even i have experienced such things. The glue that holds two individuals together has been contaminated with various impurities.
The base of the relationship are on the first place not stable or even fake. So how can you expect the empire to stand.
Dont believe me now you will:- LSD

This film perfectly represents modern relationship and how we are failing.
The drawbacks- Anxiety, fear of getting into new relation, Depression, Self doubt, etc

Love is Divine...
